Another Oil Giant brought to justice for polluting the amazon. Texaco – which merged with Chevron in 2001 – dumped more than 18 billion gallons (68 billion litres) of toxic materials into the unlined pits and rivers between 1972 and 1992.
Although the oil giants have to pay the fine (they will contest ofcourse) its been years since the disaster happened so whilst the local people and animal life and the rainforest have suffered the greedy oil tycoons have continued to make profits and live luxuriously whilst turning a blind eye to the damage they were responsible for.
And the other buffoon “BP” after creating the largest oil spillage “Deep Water Horizon” is given the green light to explore the Artic for oil. We know why right ? All boils down to money. Yet we can never recreate the rainforest nor anything like the artic in our lifetime.
