Just a little reminder to feed our animal friends out there whilst we’re in the midst of winter. Birds and Squirrels which are very much part of wildlife in our gardens tend to rely on finding their food during the spring/summer months but in the run up to winter, they do require supplementary feeding. We can walk into a shop and make our purchases, they have no option, with these conditions they need our help.
Do not give bread. This is not good for their digestion. Seeds and peanuts is what they need during the winter months. If you have a bird feeder, make sure it is topped up.
If possible, offer water too. They require water and a bathe just like we do.
I find it incredible how such a delicate creature as a Robin can survive the cold winter climate. Look at their stick like feet. Incredible.
Thank you for helping our little friends survive another winter.
